Our changing Leadership Team: Meet Lachlan

With more than 15 years of experience as a civil engineer, Lachlan is bringing a fresh perspective as Director and Company Secretary.

Lachlan has been critical to growing the Civil Engineering team at MPN. By taking on the role of Company Secretary (while continuing as Director), Lachlan is reinforcing MPN’s focus on our people.

Since joining MPN as a student engineer in 2009 – and eventually becoming a Director in 2019 – Lachlan has embodied our spirit of collaboration and mentorship. He’s been passionate about fostering a continuous learning environment at MPN.

“I’ve always valued our culture of encouragement and how we consider multiple ways to solve problems at MPN. I want to keep this going in our team,” Lachlan emphasises.

Lachlan’s experience at MPN

The support Lachlan received throughout his journey to learn and grow professionally has made him the engineer and leader he is today. His unshakable commitment to MPN stems from three key areas:

A culture of continuous learning and engagement – through on-project training and Engineers Australia programs

Mentorship from industry-leading designers and engineers, who are always available to help new and old team members grow

Hugely diverse projects and clients – with opportunities to gain experience in all areas and development types

Our clients also respect Lachlan’s ability to guide our team towards strong outcomes – while quickly reviewing problems and providing timely solutions.

“I want to make sure we always keep lending a hand to juniors and using our diverse knowledge to find the right solutions for clients,” he says.

About Lachlan

Swimming, surfing, riding and chasing his kids around the park… Lachlan is someone who spends as much time outdoors as possible. He’s also community-focused, volunteering for over two decades at Fingal Rovers Surf Life Saving Club.

What’s next for Lachlan and MPN

Lachlan is overseeing MPN’s governance and improving our training and quality assurance processes. His main initiatives will be to:

Expand MPN’s current learning and development programs to ensure that we continue to be at the forefront of the industry.

Ensure that MPN stays up to date with technology, including the latest research in engineering materials and methods.

Leverage the wealth of experience within MPN to build our reputation for nurturing talent and supporting our team.

For Lachlan, MPN should always feel like a smaller company, even when it’s taking on the largest and most complex projects. His role as Company Secretary involves ensuring that this idea is woven into the fabric of MPN’s operations and culture.

Lachlan’s proven ability to lead and focus on innovation, training and creating a welcoming workplace align perfectly with MPN’s core values – setting us on a path of continued success.
