MPN’s expertise in overcoming overland flow challenges was put to use in the development of Ascot Aurora, a residential development adjoining Doomben Racecourse in Brisbane.
The previously vacant 6.2-hectare site was transformed to include 219 townhouses and homes, a four-storey apartment building, residents lounge and pool facilities as well as a public park.
MPN worked closely with Poly Queensland and Lat27 to turn the flood and overland flow issues of the site into a key design feature. Issues were mitigated through the design of a new, natural rock-lined and landscaped waterway that formed a green spine through the middle of the site.
