Stockland’s Birtinya retail development forms the town centre of the Oceanside master planned community. MPN were engaged to provide structural engineering services for this centre.
The first stage of the town centre included over 10,000m2 of retail space in a unique open-air design to suit the Sunshine Coast climate. The centre includes two supermarkets as well as specialty stores and an outdoor dining precinct.
One of the project challenges included the poor ground conditions encountered on site. MPN overcame this issue by designing a ground improvement system that allowed for an economical slab system to be constructed.
MPN provided further engineering services for the development of Birtinya in the construction of Curve Apartments
